The benefits are listed in your policy. You have only to read them. You should always read your policy to know that the agent who sold it to you did not misrepresent. When it comes time to make a claim on your policy the letter of the law is what the policy states, not what you thought you heard during the presentation. Do you feel comfortable with the company, policies and most especially the agent? This a must and could be hard to find. If you don't feel comfortable, you will feel that you are being mislead. There are many factors involved in finding the program that works for you and your family. Each person's situation is different. Unfortunately, the policies we chose for our program may not suit every conceivable situation. Remember that insurance is not meant to replace your income. The government has ruled that we may collect a maximum of about 75% of your wages. They believe that if our incomes are replaced with insurance, we will no longer wish to go back to work. You and I know that this is not the case, as the majority of us do not want to abuse the system. Be aware that some policies are paid as "second payer", which means they will pay out the amount left up to 75% of your wage and the other any other policies you may have. Being honest with your agent about your situation is invaluable to both you and your agent. Once the agent knows what you need, how much you need, when you need it and most importantly how much you afford to pay; the process is practically painless and less time consuming.
